Detroit All-Region Team

The 2017 Detroit All-Region team is ridiculously skilled and talented. There are D-I high-level, explosive players at every position. It amazes me every season the amount and depth of high school football talent in Detroit. The Motor City over the years has produced some of the game's most legendary and accomplished players. Off the top of my head, current NFL players from Detroit include TE Antonio Gates (Detroit Central, Kent State, NFL), DE Brandon Graham (Detroit Crockett/East English Village, U-M, NFL), LB Connor Barwin (U-D Jesuit, Cincinnati, NFL), DE Will Gholston (Detroit Southeastern, MSU, NFL), DT Lawrence Thomas (Detroit Renaissance, MSU, NFL), DE-LB Nick Perry (Detroit King, USC, NFL), DT Johnathan Hankins (Detroit Southeastern, Ohio State, NFL), CB Tony Lippett (Detroit Crockett/East English Village, NFL), CB Jourdan Lewis (Detroit Cass Tech, U-M, NFL), S Delano Hill (Detroit Cass Tech, U-M, NFL) and CB Desmond King (Detroit Crockett/East English Village, Iowa, NFL), while former NFL stars from the city include RB Jerome Bettis (Detroit Mackenzie, Notre Dame NFL, Pro Football Hall of Fame), DE Eugene "Big Daddy" Lipscomb (Detroit Miller, U.S. Marine Corps, NFL), DB Mike Harden (Detroit Central, U-M, NFL), WR Derrick Mason (Detroit Mumford, MSU, NFL), OT Luis Sharpe (Detroit Southwestern, UCLA, NFL), OG Ed Budde (Detroit Denby, MSU, NFL), RB Ron Johnson (Detroit Northwestern, U-M, NFL), DB Randy Logan (Detroit Northern, U-M, NFL), OG Reggie McKenzie (Highland Park, U-M, NFL), DT Gilbert Brown (Detroit Mackenzie, Kansas, NFL), LB Thomas "Pepper" Johnson (Detroit Mackenzie, Ohio State, NFL) and on and on and on... Here is the 2017 Detroit All-Region Team --
